In the Squamish Estuary, freshwater from rivers and streams throughout the watershed meets the salt water of Howe Sound. Learn more about this ecosystem with scientists from the Squamish River Watershed Society! This interactive program introduces young scientists to one of Earth's most productive ecosystems. Through hands-on activities, participants will discover how tides, river flows, sediment, and nutrients work together to shape the estuary and create conditions that support an incredible diversity of life. Come explore these unique habitats and learn how plants and animals have adapted to thrive in this dynamic environment.
This program is best suited for kids ages 5-11, parents welcome!
