Community Meeting Room

Join Elektrik Kitchen for an evening to explore how rhythm, melody, and texture can be shaped by using digital software and analogue instruments and your imagination.

This event is for adults.

Elektrik Kitchen invites you to step into the creative world of electronic music with hands-on play with Ableton and analogue hardware.

Hosted by local producers Ross Dupree and Andrew Nolan, the workshop is equal parts listening, learning, and practical discovery.

You will explore how rhythm, melody, and texture can be shaped and how you can do this using just your laptop or analogue instruments. From drum machines and samplers, to synthesizers and effects, de-mystify how to translate your musical ideas into soundscapes and productions using Ableton live.

This is not a lecture—it’s an invitation to play. No previous experience is required; just bring your curiosity and a willingness to experiment.

About the Facilitators:

Andrew Nolan has worked for multiple music software companies including Ableton as well as being a huge gear nerd. When he is not buying more synths to add to his large collection, he loves digging for jungle breaks and old samples to use in his own productions.

Ross Dupree has been producing music for over 15 years, releasing music for TV and his own live music project. Specialising in live performance using ableton he loves helping others to expand their musical creativity through experimenting with digital software.
