Tuesday, May 12
6:30pm - 8:30pm
Squamish Public Library
Community Meeting RoomAffordable housing affects us all, whether you’re renting, owning, young or old, new in town or here long-term.
Join Housing Squamish for a discussion on what it takes to deliver affordable housing in communities like Squamish, featuring Rebecca Pousette, Housing Squamish’s Housing Manager as she shares insights from her Masters thesis research on one of the biggest challenges facing our community: access to public land.
We’ll explore:
- Squamish’s need for affordable housing
- Why access to low-cost land is critical to creating affordable housing
- What makes accessing land in Squamish so challenging
Then we’ll open the conversation up to the room:
How might we, as a community, respond to limited land availability and the growing need for affordable housing? What can we do to move forward?
Your perspective matters. Come listen, reflect, and be part of the conversation.
Session Format:
- 30 minute presentation by Housing Squamish staff
- World Café-style discussion in small groups
