Come make a zine with your family!
For kids ages 5-12 and their families!
This hands-on workshop will walk participants through making their own mini zines. By the end of the workshop, each group will have made a small zine together!
The library will provide supplies such as paper, magazines, scissors, glue, washi tape, stamps, a photocopier and more.
If you want to include any of your personal photographs, art, or other visuals, please bring them along.
A zine (pronounced “zeen”) is a DIY, low-budget, self-made, small publication that allows all voices to be heard. In a zine, anyone can write, print, and distribute their story, ideas, or art however they want to. Unlike traditional publishing, zines are the final product of the individual creator or group and are often “published” with the aid of photocopiers. To learn more about zines, check out this book!
Conveniently located downtown, the Squamish Public Library has a large meeting room, quiet study spaces, an outdoor pickup window, and an art gallery.
